The Voice of Business

Small businesses are the backbone of our regional economy and the lifeblood of our local communities.

Over 130,000 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operate here, contributing three-quarters of all private sector income generated. Enterprise NI lobbies on behalf of these start-ups, self-employed, micro, and small business. We ensure the Northern Ireland Executive; the Committee for the Economy and key economic development stakeholders are fully briefed in relation to enterprise and entrepreneurship in Northern Ireland.

We are in touch with more than 3,500 businesses every week through our network’s engagement with tenant-based and locally connected businesses. This active connectivity is harnessed through our annual Enterprise Barometer, regular pulse surveys, entrepreneur-centric focus groups, and through the Enterprise NI facilitated Assembly All Party Group on micro and small businesses.
